I first began in fine arts, working with a variety of techniques but for the most part with oil painting. However, my world changed as I entered another phase in my life: Motherhood.
Through my kids eyes I was introduced into fantasy lands with everyday objects and ordinary toys; with just a stool and a few blankets a Kingdom was created with kings, queens, fairies and a horse called Dad; with a few pillows on the floor and the baby car seat at the lead an airplane was ready to take off; with a few wood blocks and plastic toys an amazing zoo of brave animals and dinosaurs was fashioned.
Ultimately, what really sparked my imagination (and still does) were their constant questions; what do trees eat? Where does the mountain sleep? How can the sun and moon play together at the same time? All their curiosity and make believe made the impossible become possible: and that is what currently makes me take a great interest in illustration.
